In addition to cervical spine disorders contributing to pain and disability, abnormal sagittal alignment can play a role in neurophysiological changes related to somatosensory processing and sensorimotor control.


It appears that altered afferent input directly impacts the development of abnormal neuroplastic alterations in the central nervous system. Therefore, restoring sagittal plane positions may be necessary for improving the afferentation process.
